On three of our swims on the Moreton Tour I ask everyone to swim in a tow. This is simply to make ourselves more visible during the swims.
Departing the Holt Street wharf at 10am (travel time 75 minutes) we will arrive on Moreton Island and immediately fall into Island Time.
Swim 1 - swimming from the western beach and escorted by one of the resort boats we will head towards the wrecks. Approx swimming time 70 minutes.
During the afternoon you will have time to check in to your room and relax before heading to the wild dolphin feeding at sunset.
Dinner is an all you can eat buffet and possible a couple of refreshing beverages.
Swim 2 - "The early swimmer catches the sunrise"; we will hit the beach early for a quick swim before breakfast. This session, we will focus on some specific open water skills; beach starts (ins and outs), sighting and porpoising. Approx 50 minutes.
Come to the swim ready to hit the buffet breakfast and refuel while overlooking the western beach
At 11am we will jump onboard a 4WD bus and head to our next swim location of Blue Lagoon.
Swim 3 - Diving into the freshwater of Blue Lagoon you are reminded of the natural beauty of the island. As we swim from the beach you start to wonder just how many people have ever experienced such a remote swim so close to a major capital city. Approx 75 minutes
Following the swim we head onto the eastern beach of the island and find the ideal spot for some afternoon tea before heading back to Tangalooma.
The afternoon is yours; read a book, have a massage, catch some zzzzz, you get the idea. Dinner is 6:30pm back at the all you can eat buffet.
Swim 4 (optional) - Catering for swimmers with FOMO; for the second day in a row we will hit the beach early for a quick swim before breakfast. This session, we will swim parallel to the beach and cruise the shallows (retracing the route of the dolphins) heading to the wharf, in an attempt to burn enough energy prior to breakfast. Approx 45 minutes.
Come to the swim ready to hit the buffet breakfast and refuel while overlooking the western beach. This can be a two hour breakfast, enjoy.
Swim 5 - I really don't think you can over-swim the wrecks! Again we'll dive into the water off the western beach, escorted by one of the resort boats we will head towards the wrecks. Approx swimming time 70 minutes.
Now it's your time, book a massage have a beverage or explore some of the islands history. The flyer departs at 2:30pm and will have you back at the mainland by 4pm.
